High chairs, snacks, and carvings

Okay, I'm still trying to catch up here. I can't believe how many pics I have from October! All these pics are a few days before Halloween.

Here's Dallin during one of his first official meals in the high chair. Not just licks and tastes this time. It was the real deal! We started with avocado, then green beans and peas.

He loved it all, but struggled with the swallowing, so I kept it to one time a day for a little bit.

Tanner took this pic of me eating while Dallin sleept on me in the Mei Tei.

Tanner loved his first try at making "ants on a log." He added the raisins...

then he took his first bite...

wasn't so sure at first...

then decided they were DE-licious!

Here's Dallin at the Grush's house while we made doughnuts with the girls in our youth group. Dallin was so happy the whole time!

He took a nap in the cradle that Bryan made for toy dolls.

One of the Grush boys is really good at playing with Dallin. All day while making doughnuts and then at the church activity, they giggled and giggled together!

Pumpkin Carving on Oct 29!

Tanner was not into it at all. He touched the guts a few times and put his hand inside the pumpkin once and decided it was "too cold and yucky." He liked drawing on the pumpkins instead.

Dallin chilled out on the side lines.

 My pumpkin ended up looking like this. 

The one we got from the patch ended up rotting. Jeremy had to cut out a big hole to get all the nasty parts out (it reeked). So this is the face that he ended up with. It looks like someone singing!

And just for laughs, here is the crime scene I found on our changing station the next morning. Life with a two year old is always full of surprises!

Who does Dallin look like?

That question brings up a lot of debate in our home. All this time, I've believed Dallin looks much more like Jeremy than like me, especially in the coloring. No doubt Dallin has Jeremy's blue eyes, fair skin and light hair, which is getting lighter and lighter every day.

A few months ago, I decided to look through my baby book just to make sure he didn't look like me. I was surprised to find several that looked like Dallin, including this one.

So I tried recreating the same pose with Dallin at the same age. I even found a sleeper outfit with a collar, just blue instead of pink. Here's what I was able to get.

Of all the shots, I think this one is the closest to matching the Baby Sarah photo (these were taken Oct 24).

This next one shows his eyes and chin well. I think his eye placement, the eyebrows and the eye shape are all like my baby photo. I also think he has my chin. Jeremy's is more of a cleft chin, but it might still be too early to tell.

This next one of him smiling kinda looks like my smile, right? He seems chubbier than me, though.

This one shows his hair really well. Notice how the AMOUNT of hair is similar to mine? I went back to Tanner's pictures at 5 months. He is practically bald compared to me and Dallin!

Here's a bunch of shots that don't look much like me. But he sure is cute!

In this one, my boys kind of look like brothers! But for the most part, to me, they look completely different.

It doesn't really matter who he looks like. I just have fun trying to notice where he gets his certain features. I love this one of his blue eyes!

Pumpkin Patch

Going to the pumpkin patch on October 21 was way more fun than we anticipated. Basically, Tanner's excitement made it way fun. He was so thrilled to run and roam through the fields of pumpkins that we almost forgot how cold it was (mid 40's). Dallin had a blast, too. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking...

Tanner- "Let's run, Mama!"

Tanner- "I see a big pumpkin! I see a little pumpkin. I see pumpkins everywhere!!"

Tanner and Mama- "PUMPKINS!!"

Tanner- "I got a little pumpkin for me. And a little pumpkin for baby. Let's go get a BIG pumpkin for Dada!"
