Jeremy and Tanner stopped of at one of the outdoor ice rinks in town. The big kids let Tanner play with a hockey stick and puck.
Tanner was really proud of this bugle he made. It became a special trophy for one of his "soccer games."
Here is the special inscription that he wrote on the trophy bugle. It's not a flipped image, he wrote every number backwards, haha.
The boys made a snow friend for us. In a weird way, it was nice to see him each day.
We had several snow days due to cold weather (not snow, just cold weather). So on one of our snow days, we made a pirate ship with our couches! We had a lot of fun!
Tanner likes to do projects when Dallin is napping. This time he made a race-car for batman, not to be mistaken with a batmobile.
One of the schools in town (Pacelli), had a family art night. We ate dinner there and then did a bunch of crafts and art projects. It was only $5 for the whole family and super fun.
On Saturday, Feb 6, Jeremy and I tried our hand at cross-country skiing at the Nature Center in town. Neither of us had ever done cross-country before. The boys played with a babysitter in the discovery room at the Nature Center while we went on adventure.
Once Jeremy figured out how NOT to get tangled in his skis, he did pretty good.
But I was way better than him!
It was a fun little workout!

It got warmer one day, and then quickly dropped back to below zero weather. Our snow friend had a rough time! He stayed like this for several days.

Tanner got to be the boss one evening, so he organized a family soccer game. It's really funny how he takes sooo much time to explain everything. But finally, we all got to play.
We ate McDonald's for dinner one night. For some reason, Dallin decided he would drink the ketchup.
Jeremy got to tour the plant where they make Natural Choice Deli Meat in Iowa. First time at a plant tour where they had a helmet labeled just for him! He thought that was a nice touch.
We enjoyed a super fun Valentine's party with church playgroup, lots of great friends!
As part of the party, we made giant cards for youth at Gerard Academy, a boarding school for troubled kids and teens. A few days later, I found out that they LOVED the cards!

Dallin and Tanner got good at scooting around on their skates without our help. I had to bribe Dallin with food a few times. He can do it, but he sometimes needs a little motivation.
Afterward we went to Godfather's pizza. Not sure how much longer that place will be in business.
Jeremy decided to figure out how to upgrade our computer on his own. It became a big ordeal, but in the end, our computer works much faster and we still have all our files. I'm pretty impressed he can teach himself how to do so many things that he's never tried before. Thank you, internet, for all the help!
Surprise!
Tanner's favorite day is Saturday because no one has to work or go to school. He organized a family picnic on the stairs! The activity brought us close together...very close, haha.
For Valentine's Day, I had a giant card and some cheesecake for Jeremy. He got me yellow roses (my favorite color), and then a couple weeks later we went to a fancy night out at the Foodie Throwdown event at the Hormel Home. It was fun to eat lots of tasty foods from different local chefs. No pictures because a certain someone did not want to get his picture taken.
I found Dallin trying to make a slide from the changing table to the couch. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way!
Poor little guy had a rough day with a cold.
Tablets are perfect when your kid is sick.
Daddy made Tanner a banana PB roll-up snack.
Tanner figured out how to have a birthday when it's no one's birthday. He made it Teddy's birthday. But of course teddy can't blow out the candles, so Tanner helped with that. And Teddy can't eat his own cookie cake, so Tanner helped with that. Clever clogs.
We made one big cookie and then tanner decorated it with lots of little cookies and lots of frosting. It was a fun afternoon activity.
The next day, we got to enjoy one of our friends' birthdays. He had a firetruck party!
Here's a daily occurrence, making up random songs.
Dallin is really cute about getting his own clothes on. First, he shakes out the clothes. Then, lays them on the ground nice and flat (learned that from his older brother). Then, he picks up the shirt or pants very carefully and puts them on as best he can.
Such a skinny little guy.
He has about as much fashion sense as I do!
Tanner made this cool bracelet notebook so he can write notes and carry them around with him.
Tanner likes playing Curious George games online. I thought it was cute how his hand is on top of Jeremy's. He loves his daddy.
I've been working on getting more decorations up in our library. It's fun to have a better place for all our trinkets from around the world. I still need to fill the picture frames.
Sometimes Jeremy picks Tanner up from school during his lunch break because I am still teaching classes. This is Tanner jumping on the snow outside his school.
Idk why Jeremy took this picture. Maybe to document how we didn't have access to our documents for about a week because of the upgrades he did to the computer.

I bought these pincher things to help make it easier to pick up junk around the house. Tanner figured out how to use it to get things he shouldn't be getting. A few days later, Dallin tried using it, and then it broke. I can't even get a break with buying things that are supposed to give me a break!

We enjoyed an awesome heat wave! Almost all the snow completely melted in a period of a few days!! But it was short lived. Another snow storm came a few days later. At any rate, it was really cool to see the snow all melt before the next storm. That was the first time it's ever happened since we've lived here. Looking forward to an early spring!
