Epic Family Trip: Leg #1 Seattle

This is the first of a series of posts about our very long family trip, Feb 27 to March 15.

For the first leg of our trip, we flew into Seattle on Friday night, Feb 27 and stayed with Katie, Steve and our twin nieces until early Monday, March 2. We were super excited to see the girls. Also it was our first time to ever be in Seattle!
Our flight was at night. The boys did fairly well; they both fell asleep just a few minutes before we landed, haha.
We felt very blessed that they got settled right away in Kateve's home.
The next morning, all the kids had fun playing with Jeremy and Steve.
Katie put together a cute itinerary and menu for us! We felt really special.
We drove downtown. On the way, I made a shade thing for Dallin.
We went to Pike Place Farmer's Market and loved it!
Jeremy wanted us to make thought-provoking, artistic expressions in this picture because of the artistic wall behind us, haha.
We saw the wall of chewed gum, 10+ years in the making.
Jeremy and Katie worked together really well with finding us a great place to eat lunch. And they should be good at that, seeing that Jeremy is in marketing for a food company and Katie is a registered dietitian! We ended up eating super amazing clam chowder, all different types. Yum!
The guy leaning over this counter was selling chocolate pasta noodles, cool!
Poor little Tan Man got sick our first day on the trip. Luckily, he got a good rest in the car. It was cute how he got himself a little seatbelt print on his face.
Katie stayed with the boys so they could keep sleeping in the car.
Jeremy, me, Steve and the girls had a fun time playing at a park in the city.
Then, we went to a cool lookout point.
SO adorable, right?!
It was a beautiful view that day! I had no idea how pretty Seattle is!!
We laid low on Saturday night at the house in hopes that Tanner would get better.  At bedtime, I was entertained by Kateve's effective way of getting their girls to stay focused with brushing their teeth. The girls love it because their parents make it fun.
The next day we got ready for church. Er...Kateve got ready for church. We stayed home with our boys, again hoping for Tanner to get better.
I had to get a shot of Dallin's blue eyes.
When the church goers came back, Dallin stuck with Katie.
And he fell asleep on her chest. So sweet!
We took a beautiful walk around the neighborhood. (Tanner slept at home with Uncle Steve)
We could see a navy base just a few blocks from their home.
Everything was blooming in their neighborhood!
Carly was my little walking buddy. She actually was my buddy the whole weekend. Lots of times she would come by my side, smiling big and just kind of waiting for me to hug her or sing to her.
That night, the kids colored pictures for their Great Grandma Davidson, who was put on hospice about a week before we left.
Tanner's health got worse. The girls were really sweet, checking on him and trying to make him happy.
Just chillin'.
And then lots of rough housing!!

It's no wonder that Dallin fell in love with Aunt Katie during these two days. He talks about her a lot at home now and yells her name everytime he sees a picture of her.
Once the kids were asleep, we had some super delicious peach cobbler that Katie made for us. Then we played games like boggle. We were all really good at that game!
I'm so glad we were able to spend a few days with this cute Garrett family! The best part for me was seeing Dallin, Brooke and Carly rough housing together. Even though Tanner slept most of the time, we managed to get a picture with all four of them!
