From August 7 to Aug 15, we went to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina to vacation with SarahLynn's side of the family. It was a great trip!!
The first thing the boys did when we got to the vacation home was play in the private swimming pool. They loved having so many adults to help them swim.
The beach was a 3 minute walk away the house. The ocean water was really warm, so we all enjoyed swimming with the boys.
Uncle Clay, Tanner and Jeremy had fun together out in the waves.
Making treats with Auntie Desha.
We spent Monday in Savannah, Georgia. We learned a lot of awesome historical things on a cool tour bus. After the tour, we all split up. SarahLynn walked with Mom along the river, and they did a bunch of window shopping. Jeremy, the boys, and Dad went to a railroad museum.
Later, Sl and Mom joined up with Tanya and Clay at this pretty park.
For dinner, we all met up at Paula Dean's restaurant. Butter, y'all!
We really enjoyed the meal!!
Another big highlight for the boys was mini golf with Daddy and Grandpa. They went at least two different times, and all four boys got really good at the game.
More beach pictures...
Jeremy, Clay and Dad played a lot of poker on the beach.
Each of us took turns cooking dinner for each other. We had some AMAZING meals. Jeremy and I made BBQ salmon that was super juicy with a yummy chutney sauce that Desha helped me make. Tanya and Clay made Mediterranean kabobs with tzatziki sauce! Desha made gluten free German pancakes and an amazing blueberry peach cobbler with fresh Georgia peaches. YUM.
One day, we went on a dolphin excursion where we saw wild dolphins swimming around the islands. It was beautiful!
Tanner put on his own sunscreen and asked if it was all rubbed in.
Osprey in his nest!
Tanner took some pictures from his seat on the dolphin boat. He couldn't see much, haha.
So he moved up to the front.
Lighthouse.
Looking down from the top of the lighthouse.
Here is a park near the lighthouse.
Bedtime stories with Auntie Tanya.
The boys believed that this yellow headband gave them super powers.
Dallin and Grandma Nana spent a morning at the beach.
Dal Pal got to go on a bike ride with Uncle Clay. They had a really fun time together and found an alligator! Dallin came home, stood with hands and legs outstretched and said in a low, loud voice "Cwokodile!!"
The five of us went jet skiing together. It was really fun!
Out to eat for our last night together!
The boys liked getting their arms painted.
We sure had a great relaxing vacation and it was fun to be able to spend time with the family. Thanks Grandpa Papa for making it possible for us to go!
