August Fun 2022

The first week of August, I hosted Music Around the World Camp! This was my 3rd big camp of the summer and this time I hosted it at our new home studio. Tanner, Dallin, and Owen were in the camp as helpers and they all had a blast together. It was a great group of elem kids in K-3rd grade, and we had so much fun each day. It was from 9 am to 3 pm. For lunch, we walked down the street to play at the small park and eat. We learned singing games, cultural stories, phrases in multiple languages, and we got to make a craft everyday. It was one of the most successful classes/camps I've ever done.

Fun Friday evening dinner on a summer evening. You would never guess it with my winter clothing! 

Jeremy had another bike stolen. (The red one was stolen during the first week that we lived in the new house). The boys and I decided we could help make some money for Jeremy to get another bike. So we took water bottles to the beach and started selling them.

 

 We went to Children's Pool beach first and sold a handful. Then we went to La Jolla Shores beach and sold several more. We made $80.

Jeremy was able to buy a new (used) bike!

Projects on the house

Tanner loves shopping for clothes. Jeremy took him to get new school clothes and laid out all the options he liked. It was hard for him to narrow it all down. At home, he made an inventory of all his clothes. He loved seeing everything laid out so orderly and seeing how many options he has, that are all his favorite types of fabric, colors, sizes, etc. It was fun seeing him so satisfied to have clothes that meet all his preferences.

A common occurrence is for Jeremy to fall asleep on the boy's beds while reading books or playing with them.

 

Beverly came over to babysit before the school year started. We love her!

I took the boys on a field trip to the Mission in San Diego, since their school didn't go on very many field trips and did not teach our kids about CA missions even though it's part of the San Diego state social studies curriculum. There was hardly anyone else there, and we had a fun time exploring all around. There wasn't a whole lot of information as we self toured the area. I wish that ChatGPT existed then because we could have been able to learn a lot more while we looked around. It was beautiful and I remember having a lot of quesitons that went unanswered.

We tied out a pizza place in south park, we had mixed reviews.

We explored the museum at Balboa Park called The Museum of Us. The most interesting exhibit was the one on canabalism. The other exhibits weren't very memorable. We got a great view from the balcony that goes over the little street that we drive on a lot when crossing through the park.

Before we knew it, it was time to get ready to go to Colorado!
