July Fun

 

This is Dallin still speaking. 

As you can see, the morning routine above depicts a perfect day watching TV in the year 2022 in th month of July. 

The picture below shows a very tiny primary class at the family history center, making picture frames out of popsicle sticks.

Mom is teaching a lesson I think. in her new studio.

I believe that we are trying to sell a cabinet that was in the garage or something.

Musical Theatre Camp performing Mama Don't Allow!

Me and Tanner had to be in the camp, so there were 18 kids total. and it was actually pretty fun. Mom had instruments and acting games and crafts. I did sound crew and Tanner was a narrator. The whole thing was outside, and some days was hot, but we had fun.

Behind the Scenes

We had a blast during camp this week. Students learned about the magic of theater by discovering and creating ways to help tell the story of Mama don't allow on stage 

First, we dove into the story from the children's book by Thatcher. Heard students learned about the geography and culture of New Orleans and explored ways to make jazz music like the characters in the story. Did they also discussed the main messages of the story and had a lot of fun developing backstories for each character 

Next, we played acting and singing games specifically designed to build skills for our final performance. Activities like I am a DJ and swamp races helped us explore how the characters can sound and move on. Stage singing with feather boas tube clickers and parachutes helped train our ears and voices. Students also learned about indoor and outdoor theaters, stage directions, meditation to calm our nerves and the many jobs and professions that are involved in producing a musical. 

Finally, the cast worked together to design specific ways to retell. The story of Mama don't allow for their original performance today from making their own costumes and props to choosing instruments for our sound effects to creating choreography. Every child contributed to our show in meaningful ways. We hope you enjoy the story as much as we have.

There was a mean neighbor that tried to shut down our camp, so we had lessons up in a different area of the HOA for one day. Mom was really stressed about that.

we got to decorate a hat for our costume piece. everyone got into it. I decorated mine with pipe wires. I can see part of Micah in this picture. I guess he helped mom and keep kids in line.

We had a lot of people show up for the performance and it was a lot of fun!

After the performance, we all had ice cream sandwiches.

After the play, we invited families to go swimming with us to celebrate.

Mom pretended to be a pioneer on Sunday. We sang while shaking cream to make butter.

Then we ate the butter. It was really good.

I think this is a 4th of July treat but idk.

Tanner went to bizz kids summer camp. It was really cool and then the next year I went. This year he got a job at the San Diego Tribune.

I'm sleeping like an angel.

we went to the beach with an old friend from Minnesota, the Green family.

We went to the zoo with John.

John's mom works at the zoo and she was helping show off the sloth to everyone.

Dad worked hard in the music room to make it better.
