November 2017 was a fun month for our family!
The boys enjoyed raking up the last piles of leaves.
For fun, Tanner made a chart that compared food for birds vs food for dogs.
And he wrote up his Christmas wishlist.
And he did this.
We enjoyed the 3rd Annual Soup & Santa event at the Hormel Historic Home on Nov 18!!
The boys loved it, including the crafts, elf show, soup, seeing the home and visitng with "Santa."
They were giggling so much during the elf comedy show that I had to get some pics and videos of their smiling faces.
Even though the boys know that he is pretend, they were still excited to see Santa and Mrs. Santa, as Dallin called her. They smiled and said hello, and then asked for a bunk bed. Santa said that he had never had anyone ask him for that before! They each gave him a hug goodbye.
The boys loved walking through the home to discover all the holiday decorations. There were lots of different things this year, including this patriotic tree with the new exhibit in Jay's room.
This tall nutcracker was a highlight.
The boys went home with Dad, and I stayed to help host the next seating of guests at Soup and Santa. The event was a great success!
The next day, I went to Seattle to be doctored on by my sister. I stayed most of Thanksgiving week! We had an awesome time, which included eating at all kinds of yummy restaurants, touring the underground part of the city, trying out crossfit, seeing Coco in the big theatre, chatting, and doing lots of treatments and doctor visits.
The trip was a wonderful chance to be with my sister, but more importantly a much needed time to focus on my health. It is frustrating that I could not find the appropriate care I needed in my own area where we live, but I was so grateful that I could make it work to go get treatments that are addressing all of my symptoms and issues. #naturalhealth #treatthecausenotthesymptom
I also got to eat Latkes for the first time ever. I was SOOO excited because I was currently teaching my students the Hanakkah Latke song, and now I could tell them what they were really like!
Meanwhile, the boys enjoyed their time with just Daddy for the 5 days that I was gone.
Dallin made this sign that says "no bad guys allowed."
I got home on Thanksgiving evening. We waited until Saturday to have our small thanksgiving dinner. So much to be thankful for!
We also got out the tree (we have a fake one now) and started decorating!
We tried making turkeys out of random craft supplies.
Dallin got mad at me for not helping him get dressed or get the TV on in the morning. So he wrote me this message that says "mom is sdobed (stupid)." I was startled, giggly and a little sad all at once, but I was mostly so proud of him for writing so well! He had a letter for every sound of this word!
Luckily, he wasn't mad for long. Dallin helped me dress the banister with holly.
Once Thanksgiving was over, the boys decided to mutilate the pumpkins on our porch. It kept them busy for awhile, so I didn't complain!
And by the end of the month, Tanner became a pro at tieing his shoes all by himself!!
